Review by David Bower : A Great Source of Reassurance 5 Star

Living in a hurricane prone area, I finally decided to do a backup generator. I had mine now for almost five months and he came to my rescue about 4 times to date in addition to its weekly exercise. I lived most of my life in the Houston area, Texas, and now that we have had numerous power outages caused by natural forces. Our neighborhood is covered by huge oaks and tall pines that have the bad habit of losing subscribers to high winds, which, unfortunately, the results of a power failure.

During Hurricane Ike, we lost power for eight days, which means that we have lost everything in the freezer and refrigerator, electric stove, and we have so that we have lost too much. Ike was probably the catalyst for my decision to purchase an emergency generator.

So far, there are problems with the generator once a week to come is about 8 seconds after a loss of power cuts we have experienced to date.It 'was very comforting to know that our failure lasted only eight seconds.

The installation process is quite complex, especially if you live in a city with the codes and authorization. The company that my installation took about two weeks from start to finish to complete the process. He started with the approval of the association and owner of the house once made a slab of molten steel in reinforced concrete was placed, which is about 6 inches thick. The generator was set up on the sidewalk after the pad has been set up for several days. A plumber came out and is connected to natural gas and because the generator is just a few meters of the gas meter is the migration of the gas meter was required. After an inspection has been called a city inspector to inspect all gas lines and a trip green label.

This is the first survey was done and the electrician has been programmed to tie all the cables and all internal controls.Another witness was called to electricity at that time and also passed the first inspection. One encouraging factor in all this is a comment electrical inspector that the company I used has always done a good job the first time.

Once the final inspection of electrical energy was made by a team of installation, the generator bolted to the floor, not the beginning and got the activation code for Generac. Apparently each generator Generac Generac must be activated with a unique code number. It 'enveloped in a very interesting process and I was in business.

Last week, as the outside temperature was traveling up to 21 degrees (very cold for Houston), our power went out which means that we have lost our heating, even if we have natural gas as a fan, it is power .It 'very comforting to hear the beginning of the generator and all the lights and power restored after waiting 8 seconds!

As the owner of a new estimate of the critical Generac catches my attention. I noticed a warning in the owner's manual is a reference to the importance of adjusting the valve clearance after 6 months of operation. The manual says on page 26, "This is a very important step to ensure the longevity of the engine." Needless to say that I will continue with the company that installed the generator.

My plant has been supplied by a local company that has a good reputation with the Better Business Bureau and has been in business since 1989. This gives me some confidence behind their work. I will update this review if something interesting develops.

For now, I am pleased to have with the assurance of an emergency generator provides.I see this as a guarantee, we hope not to be used, but is comforted by the fact that it is there if we need him! ....

Review by Woodrow H. Collins "obxer" : It passed the IRENE test 5 Star

After dealing with a small gas generator for 11 days without electricity with Isabel, we put in a unit of 16 kilowatts with a propane gas detector. While some short breaks occurred in the meantime, the big test began last Friday evening. First, this unit of 16 kilowatts will take place throughout the home! So my wife did not even know that the power had gone up to the main Friday night saw my Facebook Posted on Saturday morning. So ...... for the right to six days ....... without me lifting a finger ....... This unit ran our house, kept the lights, refrigerator, two freezers and heat pumps work without a hiccup. Now it is bogged down a bit 'when the amp draw for the start of a heat pump comes into play, but you expect if you put in a great unit with great confidence.

And when the grid is back on ........ close automatically.

We could not be happier ........and I think many of our neighbors will soon be installed ...... I know that one of them was already on his order. This is a great investment! Thanks PAT! (It 'a family affair ....).

Review by T. P. Darenberg "harrison darenberg" : Runs like a champ! 5 Star

I bought a six-year Generac 13kW ago.It big races, I've never had a problem and got free delivery in time. I take care of his services when they need it and ensure that every week. The best thing about this generator is that my sister (in the ER, Smart One) came to visit my birthday a few years ago and informed me that I was an idiot to buy an automatic generator of useless as a "power forever. " Today the power went out while she and my wife were preparing dinner and stayed out for almost 10 hours.I say it was the best gift I can receive Birthday! Thanks Amazon and Generac.
